City Creek

Our little Oaklee just keeps growing. I can't figure out how to stop it. Luckily she's growing at a very slow pace and is still a midget for her age. Recently she found her toes and now tries to eat them any chance she gets.
She's just a rolly-polly little ball. It's adorable.

Here's the bright smiling face I see every morning. Lately she has decided to wake up VERY early so generally she smiles at me like that for the first half hour wondering why I'm laying on the couch half asleep still.
The bigger she gets the more playful she gets and it is SO much fun watching her play. She's a crazy nut just like her daddy. :)

Today Oaklee and I went on a big adventure! We are very spoiled and Grandma Dixie decided to take us on a date to the new City Creek mall in downtown. This mall is freaking amazing. It has so many cool stores and the mall itself is beautiful. It was so much fun to walk around. We got to go inside Tiffany & Co and find ourselves some diamonds. Then, the highlight for me, I got to try on some Jimmy Choo's!!! This first pair I'm pretty much in love with and if I had an extra $1500.00 to throw around, they would be mine.

This second pair I had to try on just to see what it was like to wear a $2700.00 pair of shoes. But I pretty much fell in love with them too, even though they are outrageous.

After spending an hour trying on ridiculously priced shoes I decided that I would be REALLY good at being rich.
After the fabulous shoes Grandma treated us to lunch at one of my FAVORITE places. Cheesecake Factory! This is Oaklee enjoying the food with her Nama. They don't like each other or anything.
Oaklee and I had such a fun day and are so lucky to have a Nama that spoils us so much!

Spring!

Ryan left again for work yesterday. :( But we had a fantastic two weeks home with him. Oaklee decided to recover from RSV finally, which we were very grateful for. And with her recovery came some spring weather! Of course we randomly got a snow storm in the middle, this is Utah after all. But we had some beautiful 70 degree days. And got to experience some 'firsts' with Oaklee.

Parker is on a comp indoor football team so we get to go

to his games up at the U campus. Here's Oaklee cheering

on one of her favorite guys!

Playing with Hunties during the game.

She actually really loves watching it. She sits entranced

for a good portion of the game. It's so cute.

And here with the star football player!
With this awesome weather came Oaklee's first swing ride!
She freaking loves it. It's so cute. Here she is with her Bapa.
Side note, I'm absolutely certain my dad never got on a swing
with any of us. Clearly he loves Oaklee the most.
Lovin the swing!

Swinging with two of her favorite cousins.

We also had our first day at the park!
Before we got out the old baby swing Oaklee had to
swing with mom.
Oaklee's first time on the tramp. She basically just looked
startled the entire time. I'm not sure if she liked it or not.
Enjoying the sunshine!
These last two pictures have nothing to do with spring, it was in fact on the snow day,
but they are so cute I had to throw them in. Yep, still squinting!
Now we are back to our daddy-less two weeks. The adjustment is always hard but Oaklee and I are spoiled with lots of family close by so we don't have too much time to get lonely.
On a much more exciting note, the last two days Oaklee has been saying "mama"!!! She of course has no idea what she's saying, but I'll take it just the same.

Primary Children's Hospital: Round 2

After getting sent home from the hospital Thursday we thought we were on the mend. The doctor took Oaklee off the oxygen Friday afternoon and she seemed to be getting better. Even Saturday morning she was almost back to her normal self. But apparently Oaklee decided our weekend was becoming a little dull and she wanted to liven it up. So Saturday night she started having trouble breathing again. I put her back on the oxygen, which thankfully was still at my house. She improved somewhat, but by Sunday morning we were on our way back to the hospital.

Here we are visiting our second ER room of the week.

Oaklee chillin in the rocking chair, waiting for the doctor to come in.

After a few hours in the ER, and an unsuccessful breathing treatment, they decided she should be admitted again. They even sent us back to the same room. It was a very long day of watching her breathing and hydration.

Sunday afternoon Ryan FINALLY got home from work and got to come join in on all the hospital fun. Lucky him. But I was very happy to have him there and Oaklee was THRILLED. You can't tell in this picture, because she was really tired at this point, but she smiled a ton when he got there.

Poor girl with all her wires.....

Late Sunday night the doctors decided she was good enough to go home again. Once again we were sent home on oxygen and will remain on it for a few more days at least I think. As you can tell in this picture she was so happy to be home again. Poor girl can't get any sleep when she's in the hospital because they won't stop poking and prodding her.

She has done really well so far today and her breathing is sounding and looking better. Here's hoping there will be no more hospital stays in our near future.

The Week of the Cursed Vacation

This week Oaklee and I were all set to go on our first vacation without Ryan, since he was still at work. We were going to head down to St. George with my family for some warmer weather. The plan was to leave Thursday morning. Oaklee had been sick all week so I was really hoping she would get better before it was time to leave. This is her sad sick face on Tuesday:

Our plan to get better before Thursday didn't work out. By Wednesday night she was so sick that we made the trek up to Primary Children's Hospital. Here we are waiting in the ER:

After a few hours of waiting they decided that Oaklee had RSV and Bronchiolitis. Poor baby. She was having trouble breathing so she got put on oxygen. Here she is with Grandma who came up to wait with us.

After a few more hours they decided she was bad enough they wanted to keep her overnight. Here she is in her crib that looked like a cage.

Because we were spending the night, we obviously weren't going to be leaving for St. George in the morning. My family was considering going down and then my older sister, who had also been sick all week, found out she had pneumonia. My parents decided they were staying, but two of my sisters planned to leave later on Friday morning.

Back at the hospital, Thursday morning they decided to release us and then changed their minds because Oaklee was dehydrated, so we got to stay even longer and get an IV. Just what we were hoping for.

Around seven last night they finally decided she was okay to go home on oxygen. As you can see she was very happy to be home, even if she was still connected to a machine.

Friday morning while we were recovering at home Haley, Aodhan, and Sarah headed to St. George. They started on their way and Sarah promptly began to throw up on the car.
And with that the last of our family gave up on making it down to St. George. Clearly it was a cursed vacation.

The Squinty Eyes Continue.....

Yep. Still squinting. One day I hope to see her pretty blue
eyes again, but in the meantime, the squinty smile
makes me laugh every time.

In this video she would squint every time I stuck
my tongue out at her. I swear she's the
weirdest kid I ever met.
